Trust
In darkened night and moonless
sky
I saw a shooting star go by.
From where it came, I do not know,
And also know not where twill go.
But soon the dawn shall come about
With shafts of light both bright and stout
To fill my eyes with pleasant rays,
To fully take away this haze.
Then melody shall sing its song
From early tree-tops dewy prong
To fill my ears with tender thought
Of truth my eyes have never wrought.
But, now in shadows still and sure,
Content to be, I stand secure
And wait for coming trumpet blast
To take me to my Lord, at last.
