God's Delight
When to the Savior's life
we look
Through God's divinely written book,
Beloved Son, a man, we'll see
Who pleased the Father perfectly.
We'll see the One who brought Delight
To God who judges all things right:
Refused He to change stones to bread,
And, "not My will, but thine," He said.
Delight of God now satisfied
As, "It is finished," Jesus cried:
He knew the reason He was sent
And showed Himself obedient.
The beast had thought his deed success
With Jesus dead inside a tomb;
No more could He the world distress
While dead He lay inside a tomb.
But God's Delight knew resurrection
Without the chance of death's corruption;
Salvation never more delayed,
"This is the day the Lord has made!"
We see Him now on God's right hand,
The Lord, The Christ, God's righteous man
Who by inheritance attained
A name above all other names.
When to that Son of God we look,
Our names are sealed within the book
Of life, our Lord to ever see.
He satisfies me perfectly.
